Adair Bungalows are a set of 8 luxury self-catering bungalows maintained to high standards nestled a mere 100m away from the beautiful Richmond end of Vazon. We provide luxury accommodation to tourists primarily, however, also do provide winter lets for longer stays over the winter period. We are a family run business, and this year we are celebrating 10 years since we took over the running of Adair. We wanted to do something to celebrate this and when we saw that this year’s animals happened to be puffins, we felt that this would be perfect as we have a bungalow named ‘Puffin’.

We feel very grateful to have the opportunity to give back and help support these incredibly important charities that do so much good in the community.

Appleby is one of the world’s leading international law firms. We are a full service law firm providing comprehensive, expert advice and services across corporate, dispute resolution, regulatory and private client and trusts practice areas.

We had such a great time working with local artist Victoria Kinnersly creating “Vincent Van Goat” so when the Puffin Parade was announced we jumped at the opportunity to once again team up with Victoria and support Autism Guernsey and the GSPCA.

As a Guernsey business we like to focus our financial support primarily on the local community, often guided by one of our staff members. On this occasion, one of our newer members of staff brought the Puffin sponsorship to our attention and we thought it was a fun way to provide our support to a very worthy cause!

Michael & Carla Beaumont

Carla and I have sponsored Pam MacPuffin which is in memory of her parents Pam and Mac Drakefield. This follows on from the 2021 campaign when my company sponsored two goats, named Albert and Freda named after my paternal grandparents.

We are again very thankful to St Sampson’s High School whose art department teachers and students are painting our puffin, the scenario being the area around the Rousse Tower in times gone by. They produced some wonderful art with our goats, being very inventive in overcoming all the problems relating to the covid lockdown and social distancing.

Before relocating to Guernsey and meeting my wife Carla, I spent twenty years as a governor of an independent BESD school for boys aged from 5-12 and it is from that background that I originally decided to sponsor Autism Guernsey and their fun way of raising awareness and funds.

We wish Autism Guernsey every success in their campaign for 2023.

Kate Ovenden, Managing Partner of Bedell Cristin’s Guernsey office said: “We are thrilled to be participating in this incredibly important community initiative and can’t wait to see all the bright and cheerful puffins displayed around the island. We’ve named our puffin ‘Piquito’ which means ‘small beak’ and have invited the children of Notre Dame du Rosaire School to create a striking design for him.”

It is not by chance that clients invariably become our friends and return to us time after time as their property requirements evolve. It’s all part of the Bell & Co difference which you can count on.

Our Puffin, Breeze, features heavily in all our marketing materials so when the opportunity to sponsor a Puffin came up we we’re delighted to be part of this great cause.

We are so pleased to be supporting the puffin parade. The puffin plays an integral part in our jewellery collection, with the puffin being a wonderful symbol for the Channel Islands. We admire the work that Autism Guernsey and the GSPCA do, and we feel honoured to support such important Guernsey initiatives.

We are proud to play our part in this local community project and hope it will be the most successful yet in raising much-needed funds for both the GSPCA and Autism Guernsey. D.W. Lloyd Limited is a local business that specialises in boreholes, wells, ponds, irrigation and filtration.

We chose to sponsor a puffin for several reasons; one, because of the joy our children have had previously hunting for the cows, the donkeys and then the goats last year. Two, because we understand the importance of the work done by Autism Guernsey, the support they give to so many people and families on the Island and we wanted to be involved with raising funds and awareness for a charity we think is very worthwhile. Thirdly, we chose our church community, Shiloh to decorate and display the puffin. They hold café mornings for Mind Guernsey twice a week and the local community weekly, along with providing weekly support from the Foodbank and clothing bank to anyone who needs help.

Overall, we see this this as a great way of being involved in and giving back to our local community, which is very important to us, both personally and as a Company.

D.W. Lloyd Limited’s puffin is called Faith.

ELM

ELM is a compliance consultancy firm in Guernsey founded 13 years ago by Emma Mauger.

ELM has always taken its Corporate Social Responsibility seriously and has chosen Autism Guernsey as one of the charities it seeks to support on an annual basis.

Emma searched out the donkeys with her, at the time, two young children and had so much fun doing so wanted to get involved the following year.

The cows were also a huge success and Emma ran a competition at her children’s primary school to design and name the cow that ELM was to sponsor.

At the next opportunity ELM sponsored a GOAT and cannot wait to see the Puffins in situ this year providing pleasure to families across the Island and ultimately raising lots of money for Autism Guernsey!

Mummy has helped me sponsor a Puffin in memory of her Auntie, DJ Marji Day, as Mummy wants me to learn about helping others and giving back to our community, however we can. We have friends with autistic children and we love animals, so this was a fantastic event to support, as well as being a fun and memorable way to support both Autism Guernsey and the GSPCA.

We chose Liberate Art Club as our artists as we have many friends in the LGBTQ community, plus Mummy wants me to learn to accept everyone as an individual and always be inclusive of everyone.

Liberate Art Club have been fantastic to work with, accommodating all our ideas and helping us really bring “Party Puffin” to life!

We are proud to support The Guernsey Puffin Parade 2023 and hope everyone who takes part has lots of fun!

We’ve called our Puffin ‘Buroo’ which is a play on the name of the uninhabited island ‘Burhou’ (just over a mile northwest of Alderney) which is home to a colony of breeding Puffins each Summer.  Teaming up with Guernsey Alzheimer’s as our artist gave us the opportunity to support another local charity alongside Autism Guernsey.

At Gower we’ve been providing financial planning services to the Bailiwick of Guernsey since 2005.  We offer Pensions, Investments, Mortgages and Life Insurance to Guernsey & Alderney based clients and our team of Financial Advisers will help clients plan for the short, medium and long term, advising on the most suitable products and services to help them achieve their financial objectives.

Herm Island

Herm Island is proud to sponsor a puffin for these fantastic causes. The Herm puffin colony is very much treasured by Herm islanders and the Bailiwick community, and it is vital we continue to protect and cherish these endangered and unique little seabirds.

While our puffin is at L’Aumone, IslandHealth patients could also attend our other surgeries: the St Sampson’s Medical Centre on the Grandes Maisons Road and the Town Surgery at the bottom of the Truchot. Both of these are excellent locations with well qualified and caring staff working from them. But they’re not as new as our modern L’Aumone Surgery. And they don’t have a puffin!

Before founding METECC both Sharon and Peter had careers in Education, and recognise the importance of development of diverse individuals.  So much so that they recently sponsored a Guernsey Lords Taverners/Celebrity 11 cricket match raising funds for a sensory room at Le Rondin School

Sadly Sharon passed away in 2017 and we dedicate this to her memory. The Resilience and beauty of Puffins represent so much in the memory of Sharon. Strong and determined, she also ensured she returned to Guernsey every year with her family and an ever growing flock of friends to enjoy the warmer weather and consume fresh sea food.
